What is your job and what most excites you about what you do?

My major responsibility is conducting market analysis and program evaluation to support Agri-Insurance programs and lending programs at MASC. In addition, I act as liaison between MASC Management and grain/livestock industry /producers with regard to quality /marketing issues.

What excites me most is that I am working with colleagues at MASC and industry stakeholders to provide more effective products and services to Manitoba producers.

How diverse is your workplace, or your field of work as a whole? What do you think should be done to support greater diversity and create more inclusive practices in your workplace and in the Agriculture field?

I would like to see more female representation in Agriculture industry. Some potential aspects are raising awareness and interest among young girls in agriculture-related disciplines, as well as equipping and advancing skills in Agriculture field.

What advice would you give to young women interested in a career in your field?

Besides academic excellence, communication and interpersonal skills are important as well.

What are some of your interests outside of work?

My biggest hobby is reducing carbon footprint, including collecting compostable from work and promoting active transportation/commute. Besides, I run, cycle, boulder, and read.

What are you most hoping you will learn from your mentee? What learning goals do you have for this experience?

I am a firm believer that I can learn from everybody. My favourite quote, from Confucius, is that even when walking in a party of no more than three I can always be certain of learning from those I am with.
