"Find something you are interested in, and interested in learning more about, and run with it"

Senior Financing Specialist

Royal Bank of Canada

What is your job and what most excites you about what you do?

I work together with Senior Account Managers in our region (MB & SK) to provide financial and business advice to Agricultural producers and Agribusinesses.

What advice would you give to young women interested in a career in your field?

Find something you are interested in, and interested in learning more about, and run with it. Ask questions, be curious, learn always. I believe these are key to success in any field.

What are some of your interests outside of work?

I enjoy “doing” whether gardening, home renovations, landscaping, or various creative pursuits. I also enjoy golfing, curling and time spent at the lake.

What are you most hoping you will learn from your mentee? What learning goals do you have for this experience?

I look forward to learning what brought them to Agriculture and the decision to pursue a career in this field. Also to see agriculture from another point of view, and discuss our views, experiences, goals and challenges both in our individual mentorship groups, and broadly within the larger group.
