What is your job and what most excites you about what you do?

Manager, Industry Leadership Section, Industry Advancement Branch - MB Agriculture 30 years experience in government within MB Agriculture with over 10 years in a management role and I most enjoy working with staff who are engaging the public in learning opportunities, accessing resources in capacity building of agriculture organizations as well as funding support

How diverse is your workplace, or your field of work as a whole? What do you think should be done to support greater diversity and create more inclusive practices in your workplace and in the Agriculture field?

MB Government is a diverse workplace – we have the distinction of being one of Manitoba's Top Employers for 2017 and are one of the largest employers in Manitoba with over 14,000 employees throughout the province. Greater diversity needs guidelines that encourage targets

What advice would you give to young women interested in a career in your field?

There are still opportunities within the public service in agriculture!

What are some of your interests outside of work?

Attending musical events and playing in Community Jazz band; community involvement, cooking, reading and socializing – including dancing

What are you most hoping you will learn from your mentee? What learning goals do you have for this experience?

I really enjoyed participating in this program last year Mentorship provides a great learning opportunity for everyone involved. My learning goals include meeting new industry partners and students that expand my knowledge of the diversity within agriculture careers Public service should be considered an important career option - I’ve enjoyed working all across rural Manitoba. I want to encourage the importance of community participation and the value of professional development
