The Bruce D. Campbell Farm & Food Discovery Centre of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences of the University of Manitoba opened September 16, 2011. The Centre is a fun and exciting destination with exhibits, public programs and events that explore modern farming and food production, and the science and technology that provides healthy, sustainable food for Manitoba and the world. From 2011-2013, the Chair will collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen the exhibits displays, including making sure that there is a gender-balanced approach in the hands-on displays, and to ensure that the role of women in agricultural careers is clearly expressed in the displays.
The Centre is located about fifteen minutes south of Winnipeg and is open to the general public from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am-4pm. The Centre is well equipped to host large groups, particularly elementary and high school kids.
